Since my long hiatus from blogging, I've had a long time to think about what I might like to talk about once I started blogging again. One of the biggest controversies in the photography world has been whether or not to offer digitals to clients. If you do offer them, how many do you give, all, one five, ten, etc? And what about offering products?
First and foremost I want to create beautiful images that my clients can enjoy on a daily basis. I offer finished products because it's part of the artistry of what I do. That means getting your portraits from digital form and creating a physical heirloom that you can hold in your hands. Something that fits the aesthetic of your home and lifestyle while showcasing your beautiful family. If I had a dollar for every time a client has told me that all they've done with the images with their last photo session was post a few on facebook, make a holiday card and don't even know where they saved the remainder of the images... well let's just say, I'd own my dream house in Crested Butte!
We all love the idea of "owning" every image of us or our loved ones, but how often do you go to that digital download, pop in that cd or jump drive and actually look through all of the images? Ten years from now, technology will have changed so much that we won't have access to cds, jump drives or even know where we put the back up of the images from a session that we took in the Fall of 2016.
I know how much work it takes to create an album or wall gallery and I also know that if you don't do it right after your session, it will most likely never get done. I love that I can help my portrait clients by offering them this service and I've never had a client every regret ordering a framed image or album.
If you want to find out more about the products I offer or need to schedule a session for your kids or family, make sure to give Lily Red Studio a call at 720-213-4035!
